The team originated from a need for practical networking events to bring practitioners together, to learn, share ideas, and raise standards for those working with people and animals in the field of Animal-Assisted Intervention or Therapy – Animal-Assisted Intervention UK (AAIUK)

Keen not to ‘reinvent the wheel’ and disperse the field further, the team chose to collaborate with individuals and organisations who share our ideals, working to highest standards and are passionate about providing good quality services between people and animals throughout the UK.

In November 2013, the first event was held at Hereford Community Farm where we were able to provide a range of talks, discussions and practical learning opportunities to those interested in exploring or promoting the subtle techniques required for effective, relationships working with people and animals.

With a surge of positive feedback, the team were encouraged to host many more events like this, partnering with organisations such as Turn About PegasusOur Special FriendsThe K9 ProjectSirona Therapeutic HorsemanshipVeterans with DogsInternational Association of Human Animal Interaction Organizations and Society for Companion Animal Studies and the K9 Project …. to name a few!

Momentum has continued, with the development of practical training courses, further networking events, as well as the delivery of new animal and land-based therapeutic activities and through collaborative working in the community.
